Patrick  Kelly was the eldest of
nine children born to

Rose Kelly of Iniscarn, Co
Derry. He was a carpenter
prior to becoming a priest in
1899. He served 5 years as a
curate in Dungiven where in
the Parish History
"Benbradagh" he is noted as
playing a significant part in the
conflict between the Parish
Priest Rev. Edward Loughery
and the Bishop of Derry. Rev.
Kelly officiated at the
wedding
of his sister,
Annie Kelly to
Herbert Lusby in July 1921.
