Herbert and Annie Lusby established their first herd of Shorthorn Cows at Kilfennan in the 1920s.  Their
first cow was called Bluebell and was bought for £14. Their second cow was called Pretty Polly, was bought
for £16 and won first prize at Derry Agricultural Show.
